Alvin J Walters
Alvin Walters was born and grew up in the small community of Port Caddo in Marshall, Texas, so named for the Caddo Indian tribe who had inhabited the land, surrounding the great Caddo Lake.
She attended and graduated from Wiley College, home of the Great Debater, where she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. After receiving a Masters Degree from Prairie View A&M University, she taught public school in both Port Arthur and Fort Worth, Texas for over twenty years.
Having retired in 2011, she set upon marking items from her bucket list. The first, write a novel about her family. "Secrets of the Grove" is her debut fictional work. The book loosely based on her grandparents and their nine children is filled with suspense, twist, and turns.
Of her writing style, the author thinks of her writing as five dimensional. The reader should be able to hear, feel, smell, taste and see all the events as they happen. She further thinks that a good novel should put the reader in the middle of the action, from the first paragraph and even after the last page.
